A bucket elevator is a piece of equipment with a great capacity to transport product with flows of up to 50m3/h. In a very small space, with minimal energy consumption and taking maximum care of the product. You can make multiple discharges and feed at several points at the same time.

What is a bucket elevator?
We agree with Wikipedia that it would be the vertical equivalent of the conveyor belt. p>
Vertical Bucket Elevator Advantages
They are modern and compact equipment with high performance, great reliability, low maintenance cost and minimum energy consumption. In addition, they have a great capacity to transport product with flows of up to 50m3/h.
It occupies a very small space and takes maximum care of the product. Also, you can make multiple downloads and feed at various points with a single elevator. They have ultra systems -Quick change of buckets.
In addition, they are compatible with a wide range of in-house manufactured buckets. They can be manufactured with or without fairing. They have security micros on the doors and other security systems. CE regulations.
What types of vertical bucket elevator are there?
The vertical elevators are classified according to the shape of the route that the buckets must give. At Marobera we make them all:
– Elevador de cangilones TIPO Z
– Transportador-elevador de cangilones TIPO O
– Transportador-elevador de cangilones TIPO C
– Elevador de cangilones MÓVIL
– Elevador de cangilones plano, doble, de forma libre…
Elements that make up a bucket elevator
- Several buckets to transport bulk material vertically.
- A conveyor belt or conveyor chain to move the buckets.
- Some means to direct the movement (motor-reducer).
- Accessories to fill the buckets and/or empty the product, receive the emptied product, maintain tension in the system and for maintenance, as well as security systems.< /span>
How does bucket transport work?
A centrifugal discharge elevator must be vertical or inclined. The vertical elevators totally depend on the action of centrifugal force to direct the material towards the discharge chute and must be operated at a relatively high speed.
For this reason, inclined elevators with buckets that are too far apart or too close must have the discharge chute under the drive pulley. Since they do not depend so much on centrifugal force to discharge, the operating speed may be lower. Nearly all centrifugal discharge elevators have spaced buckets with rounded bottoms and take product from a pit or stockpile at the driven pulley.
In addition, the buckets can also be triangular in cross sections and installed very close to each other with a very small gap between each one. It is known as a “continuous bucket elevator” and its main application is handling difficult-to-transport materials at low speed.
The first bucket elevators manufactured used flat chains with metal buckets spaced a few inches apart. Today, rubber belts with plastic buckets are mostly used. Pulleys of several feet in diameter are also used at both the upper and lower ends. The upper pulley or “driven pulley” is started by means of an electric motor.
A device with a similar principle but with flat steps is the escalator for humans or some devices installed in parking lots for the transportation of employees.
About buckets
A bucket is a container originally used to transport water as a complement to a motor device.
Formerly, they were made of clay, wood or metals. Although the most recent ones are plastic. In our case, of polyamide. Now it is usually used to haul solid or semi-solid materials.
In engineering, the loading part of systems for the vertical transport of bulk materials is called a bucket.
Synonymous with arcaduz, this vessel is preferably used in waterwheels, where the buckets, attached with ropes or chains, raise the water to an irrigation canal. As a mechanical device it is also used in cereal plants, distributing seeds within storage silos. The present time usually has other industrial applications in very diverse sectors.
What types and sizes of buckets are there?
At Marobera we manufacture and use various types of buckets in our vertical elevators. We manufacture them in Natural Polyamide or Metal-D Polyamide.
CALYON Bucket – PA6 Natural
Made of natural polyamide. Capacities: 2L, 5L, 7L and 10L.
CALYON X Metal-D Bucket
They are made of natural polyamide and powdered metal. Its properties make it possible to detect and eliminate any shavings or bucket pieces that may have fallen into the transported product. Capacities: 2L, 5L, 7L and 10L.
Handling and transportation of bulk material
The bulk material handling is an area within engineering that focuses on the design of equipment used to transport materials such as minerals, cereals, grains, etc. that have to be transported in bulk.
It can also be related to the management of various wastes. Material handling systems are generally made up of moving machinery elements such as belt conveyors, bucket elevators, etc.
The purpose of bulk material handling is to transport material from one or more locations to a final destination. Providing a storage system, inventory controls, and some blending systems is usually a part of bulk material handling systems.
Systems for bulk material handling can be found in mines, ports (for loading and unloading of grains, minerals, etc) and processing industries (such as iron, steel, refineries, etc)
